Jeah it’s half past three in the morning and I’m right back from work. Today I saw the film “Operation Walküre” with Tom Cruise in the role of Stauffenberg.
It’s full with action and thrilling scenes, but I think it’s not the moneyspinner.
The film tells the story about Oberst Stauffenberg, who want to kill Adolf Hitler with help of a bomb.
It began with structering the plan and it endend with the execution of Stauffenberg, after his plan failed because Hitler survived.
I my opinion the film tells this story in a very significant way. But in generell it’s just another film, which do this.

I thinkeverybody knows the story about the good and the bad cop. But “Training Day” shows it in a very impressive way. Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawke) applies for a job in the drug department and gets to the Bad Cop Alonza Harris (Denzel Washington). Jake wants to make the world better. He wants to save the kids in L.A. from drugs and crime. So Alonza gives him a chance, he gives him a TRAINING DAY.
The day go by and Alonza shows Jake the streets of L.A.. Drugs dealers, black mail and so on. All happenings might be casual.
Because Jake is clever, he checks fast that Alonza is currupt cop. And at the end of the day, all happenings go together. In my mind it is a gripping movie because it shows the black sheeps under us. The viewer can dispense a couple of hints and puzzles and all in all I can say the film is worthy of his Oscar

On Thursday my girlfriend invited me into a cinema from the rivalry ;-D
But it was great because we have seen Berlin Calling with Paul Kalkbrenner in the lead. Kalkbrenner is a great electro/minimal/house DJ from Berlin and, after this film I can say, a marvelous actor too.

Traveling from from the one gig to the other, Igki gets exhausted and only Keta, Speed, MDMA and co help him to stay on stage. At a session in a Berlin nightclub, shortly before the new album release, he takes a to high dose of extasy and wake up in the nut house next morning – last stop on the line…

The album is canceled ans his girlfriend/manager want no truck with him. Only the music gives him the power to survive.  And it works..

In my mind Berlin Calling is a must have seen. I was afraid about the good acting of Kalkbrenner, because he shows the viewer the crash from a famous DJ to a human wreck in a very sweeping way.
Additionaly the film is loaded with extra nice music from the master himself.
To get inspired from this music I loaded up a few titles from Paul Kalkbrenner.

First I have to say WOW !!! 

This film is the most fascinating I’ve ever seen. After watching I pushed the replay button on my DVDplayer and saw the film a second time.

It’s german movie what was made in cooperation with the NDR and arte. The film is playing in Hamburg where two guys don’t wanna live in the ghetto anymore. Chiko(Denis Moschitto) wants to rise to the top of the drug milieu. So he and his best friend Tibet(Volkan Özcan decided to beat up several small drug dealer. They hope with this action the Big Boss Brownie (Moritz Bleibtreu) will get advertent. A few days later Chiko is brought to Brownie and Brownie thinks that Chiko must get a chance. So Chiko and Tibet are now working on trial for Brownie. But Tibet deceives Chiko AND Brownie..

In the following Chiko get into a destructive verification. On the one site stands his best friend ever and on the other the incredible life with fame,drugs, money and women…

All of the actors are playing so authenticly that the viewer is banned in the film till the end. About this I don’t want to speak I can say that a happy end does not exist…

On a chart from one to ten this film gets a 20 from me

After 20 years with triumphant series, 2007  the first simpsons movie came into our cinemas.
First I have to say, that I’m a real simpsons addict.
Even though I know all episodes I always switch the TV on when the Simpsons run on TV. Sometimes people look a bit afraid at me, because I quote a phrase from simpsons and if you don’t know that that is a quote, it doesn’t make sense ^^

Whatever. Let’s come back to the movie.
In the run-up to the film Madd Groening was asked if this would be the end of Simpsons.
He just laughed and said that’s gonna be the half time.
“Simpsons-The Movie” tells a story about Springfield which is wasting their enviroment all the time.

To stop the expansion there are 5 choices where President Arnold Schwarzenegger choose from.
He decided to put a huge glass cupola over Springfield.
When the inhabitants got out, that Homer is liable for this misery, because he plunged a big silo full of pig-crap in the Springfield-Lake, they going crazy and want to kill him. With help of a trick, which Maggie found out, the family can escape out of springfield and want to start a new live in Alaska.

It did’nt last long and the US-Government got informed about the refugees. So they decide to blow up Springfield..
Now it’s the Simpsons’ turn to rescue their hometown, after they have brought Springfield in this situation.
Although I love Homer and co.
I must say that the storyline is not the best anymore, but the particular scenes are so lovely, you can’t imagine.
Rolling on the floor and laughing is guaranteed.
If you’re a Simpsons-fan like me, I think you even had saw the movie, if not GO TO WATCH IT !!!
But if you’re not a passionated Simpson-freak, I think you’ll find the film really strange.

Today I want to write about Kopps, a swedish production of 2003.
The first time I saw this film was in 2006, while I was with friends in London. All of us didn’t know about this film, but after the film we were laughing all the time about it. 

The film acts in a small swedish town with the lovely name “Högboträsk”.
The government has decided to close the police station in Högboträsk because in this town is no crime anywhere. The most of time, the Officers spent with drinking coffee and cruising around the streets.

But when they got informed about the situation, they wake up and creating a plan. The crime rate rises suddenly but why?
The crazy cop Benny(Torkel Petersson) and his colleagues make sure that their police office will not closed.
In my mind it’s a very, very funny film because of it’s amusing story and the ampleness of cheerful sequences.

Neulich in Belgien tells a story about a love between a Truckdriver Johnny (Jurgen Delnaet) and the over 10 years older, divorced Matty (Barbara Sarafin). They get together in quite normal circumstances, because they get together with their cars..

Johnny, the guilty one, immediately get started with flirting, but Matty is pissed because her trump is dented.
Police is coming, cars are checked, notes are noted – Just routine.
A few days later Johnny appears in front of Mattys flat, where she is living with her two daughters and her son. He wants to repair the trump and wants to say sorry.
After the repair and a bit smalltalk between the two, Matty invites Johnny to diner – Blutwurst mit Senf.

This film had no action and no exciting scenes anywhere. But it was fine to view it, because it tells a story where you can lean back and participate.
Christophe van Rompaeys film shows , what could have happened lately in Belgium, in a pulchritudinous way.

The background story is about the concert where Hildegard Knef transformed from actress to a singer.  Before she’s going on stage Hilde recalls the past from childhood during worldwar 2 over her time in Hollywood to the comeback in Germany with her scandalous film “Die Sünderin”. Scandalous because you were able to see her breasts for a few seconds. Hildegard Knef was the first actress with blank breasts in a german movie.

I think this movie inspires people who love the real Hilde but it’s definitely not a film for a huge audience.

If you’re not fascinated from Hildegard Knef, please don’t immolate 137 minutes of your precious time.

This movie is one of the funniest I have ever seen.
The story is not really exciting, but the german actors are so great. Ludo Decker(Til Schweiger), a Berlin- Boulevardreporter, doesn’t know anyting about privacy or politeness.
So he gets in a very pricarious situation and a court dooms him with social work in a kindergarden, where he finds out a completely new side of him.
His colleague, Anna Gotzlowski(Nora Tschirner), is a girl from his highschool, that was mopped by Ludo all the time.
But now he checks, that Anna and he might be a perfect pair.
After several funny scenes and a long, long way for Ludo with impressing Anna, they get together and all’s well that ends well.
I’m of the opinion that “Keinohrhasen” is the perfect sunday evening film on the couch, but not really a glorious blogbuster..

Der Tagesspiegel

Waltz with Bashir show subject of the Libanon war in a very dramatic way. One night in a bar an old friend tells Ari(Ari Folman), an actor about a dream what come back every night. He is attacked by 26 dogs.
Every night always 26 dogs.
Because of this story he is reminded on his time during the Libanon war and he decide to contact his friends, pals and other persons to identify his memories. This leeds Ari to undergo to his displaced problems.
His PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder) is told in very challenging way. After seeing this film with friends I was shocked and touched too, because this israelic-german-france coproduction put a strong serious thematic based on true interviews in a cartoon and create with this features a film with a haunting guarantee.

In my mind it was the best film in 2008.
